What this site collects, why, and what it does not.
To see which pages get read, the site records each page view: the page, the site you came from, your approximate city and country, your browser and device type, and how long the page stayed open. The city and country come from Cloudflare, which works them out from your IP address. The address itself is not stored.
A random visit ID links the pages of a single visit. It lives only in your browser tab and disappears when you close it. No cookies are set, and nothing is used for advertising or shared across other sites. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded.
A daily summary is emailed to me. Visit records are deleted after about a year.
If you write to me through the form, I store your name, email, message and any event details you add, plus the approximate city and country of the sender. I use them only to reply. Messages are deleted after about two years. I don't sell or share them.
The site runs on Cloudflare, which hosts it and stores the data above. Contact notifications and the daily summary are sent through Resend. Fonts load from Google Fonts. The Video page loads thumbnails from YouTube's image servers, and the YouTube player itself loads only when you press play. The Social page shows Instagram posts. Those companies handle your data under their own policies.
Email joshua@joshuakyles.com and I'll delete anything tied to your messages. Visit statistics can't be traced back to a person, so there is nothing to look up there.
